Rodney Reese is a native of Baton Rouge, LA, graduated from the Southern University Laboratory School and attended Southern University A&M College. He worked for BASF, the world’s largest chemical company and the Baton Rouge Fire Department. After being involved in an explosion at the plant in 1997 which lead to medical retirement in 2005 at the age of 48. In the year 2000 Rodney was diagnosed with Sarcoidosis. He founded the Sarcoidosis Awareness Support Group of Greater Baton Rouge and The Sarcoidosis Awareness Foundation of Louisiana, Inc. He is a Patient Ambassador for the Foundation for Sarcoidosis Research.in 2016.
